The Channeler’s Experience
Is this all true? Is any of it? That is a determination each reader will make. We are plagued with these questions when we find a “stranger than fiction” story or hear about a miracle from the olden days or modern-day life. Is fiction actually "fiction," or has someone, somewhere, lived it?
When any writer writes, I believe there is a certain amount of “receiving” involved—from simple imagination to visualization of a story, be it people who wish to convey the workings of a lesson, a bittersweet romance, or even a tale of war, regardless of it encompassing survival or death. Would it be safe to say that it’s really the reader who makes a story come alive? After all, it is really the reader who bursts forth in delight or terror or heartfelt empathy when listening to an account. It is the reader, the viewer, who allows the story to take root in their heart—and even become a steadfast companion.
Is this all real? What did I "see" when I wrote down the words of the accounts that floated past my eyes and integrated into my heart, my being? I feel privileged to peek behind a curtain—a “veil,” if you will—to watch and hear some realities of continued existence. Was it real? Are these storytellers real? As the channel/receiver, I can nod my head yes, but you, the reader, will choose whether you allow these stories to become a part of your conscious mind and consciousness.
For some, this information will surely teach new things. Perhaps for others, it will seem like a fairy tale. The outcome is placed in your hands and hearts. I feel the stories shown me were not for me alone. The information bridged between two worlds was not meant to stay in my mind and soul. The stories belong to those in the spirit world, but these storytellers did not wish to keep this to themselves. I doubt I would have felt so pushed to accomplish the transcripts of these stories if there had not been a reason beyond myself. It is they who wish to give the gift of snapshots of their life.
It took me decades to have the courage of their conviction and allow these stories to surface. Sometimes, I was steadfast in what I believed—religiously, spiritually—and many things waited years before I could hear them intently enough to open my heart and mind and be brought to the page. I believe I frustrated many of the storytellers. Sometimes, to the point that they nearly gave up on my commitment—thus, there are some truncated chapters. Perhaps had I moved more quickly and been more open, they would have brought forth more information. I apologize for that—to them and the readers.
No matter the elements of your belief system, they can and will change by reading materials such as this. Otherworldly accounts beyond our looking glass and comparison. I believe through our experiences on Earth we might grow or retreat yearly, daily, even hourly, and sometimes minute-to-minute, in what comprises our personal individualized “faith capsule.”* While we may steadfastly adhere to certain religious tenets, from Catholic to Baptist, Jewish to Muslim, Buddhist, Taoist, Mormon, Jain, atheist, or other viewpoints, religious or not, our beliefs and mindsets can change through exposure to others’ experiences. In some moments, we may feel invincible, and thus our "faith" is vital. In other moments, we confront the weakness of our inability to broaden in our tendency to believe or not.
Portraits, though they reveal a glimpse of eternity, there is a huge gallery which GodSource invites us to traverse. The gallery has, near the exit, a mirror. What does anyone see within the reflective glass? Who stares back? And who has left an empty stanchel? And who sees their oneness with the SourceEnergies/God?
A Rose by Any Other Name—
The chapter by Christina and her parent figures in the spirit world was not given in one sitting. She often peeked in on my life and told me she was ready for more conversation. Seeing her impish and sometimes Cheshire-cat-grin, I asked myself: was I? I felt that this young girl joined The StoryTellers for healing, as much for her parents and family members as herself. I thought she also reached back to life on earth as she recognized how much she had grown and her desire to let them know how life continued for her.
I met Christina once when she was much younger. When her parents read an early draft of this chapter, they did not accept that this portrait was their daughter. I was troubled by their request not to use this story, as it is one which deeply touched my heart and garnered an understanding that children who died young and “grew up” in the spirit world did not have such a painful ordeal, notwithstanding the immense loss—of their child to a parent, and their parent to a child. I thought of people like Polly Klaus, the girl who America will remember was robbed of life through a household intruder while at a slumber party at her friend’s house. I thought of the parents of Adam Walsh who started the Missing Children Foundation, an organization that has become an all-important part of safeguarding America’s children. I envisioned parents of kids who died of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), or of babies who never knew life out of an ICU incubator.
What could help those who had immeasurable grief? I thought of many people who have "lost" their children in countless ways, and what a comfort this story might be to them. And I also thought of those children now in the spirit world—however "grown-up" they might be, and however much they must (still!) want to convey to their parents and friends how they are now, and wanted to explain some things about what it’s like to live in the spirit world. Christina used her voice and took the chance to come through. I heard it, and I responded. Through prayer and encouragement from her, I decided to include her story. Respecting her parents' wishes not to use her name, references to her identity have been omitted, as have any but the most general details of her life on earth.
I was overwhelmed by her sweetness, her light. She, a gentle soul, was filled with laughter and such goodness. It is this to which I can testify. It is this that I wish you could perceive in her demeanor. The parent figures who also imparted certain knowledge were very genuine people in their love for her as caretakers and storytellers. To me, they came alive in their expressions of how “parenting”—mentoring, teaching, loving!—is done for children who go to the spirit world and give other glimpses of what life, in that role as well as others, is like.
If she is not who I initially thought her to be, I humbly apologize for my decision. Whoever this young woman is, she is strong in her desire to speak to the world. I could not put this story—her story—on the shelf. So, I approached her, asking whether she minded being referred to by another name. She assured me that she didn't mind, and in fact, she chose the name Christina. I feel her story captures details about the spirit world that could not be omitted from this series of stories—not only for all the physically challenged “handicapped,” but for all of us challenged in our emotions, spirit, and faith to see our child or ourselves as we truly are, even though it might be different from who they are through spiritual growth.
A Marriage Reunion
Willful and righteous—characteristics that describe the feistiness of Andy and Nancy’s union on earth and reunion in the spirit world! The information Nancy imparted came partially from channeling and partially through inspirational writing. But the stories her husband told were so fluid in their content and portrayal that I was astounded. I never met him in person, but knew his wife. After his passing, she came to me for a spiritual reading. Some of the information in his story came through in the reading. But I also showed her the story had had begun sharing through me. She said the spirit portrayed was definitely his. In our conversation about it, we realized it was in a far different "voice" than his command of the English language during his life. I even asked him if he would like to “speak” in the way he did on earth, even if the English sounded “broken.” He shyly told me that a writer/public speaker there was helping him bring forth the details of his work as a transporter, and that he would rather use the more eloquent words they provided. What I saw and sensed were beams of light portrayed in his words emanating through his intense sincerity.
As I received this piece from Andy, I must say the images were so clear. I felt he did a lot to prepare the workspace we made through the communion of our minds. I respect and admire his honesty regarding how he thinks about the stories of his and his wife separately, and together after their reunion in the spirit world.
A unique part of their story, bridging the physical and spiritual worlds, has been omitted out of courtesy to those on earth.
Fame—(We’re Going to) Live Forever**
Two famous individuals known to people worldwide in this 21st century are among The StoryTellers.
One is the actor, writer, producer, and director of many beloved episodes of Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven. Michael Landon was easily recognizable, as much by how he appeared as by his gentle presence.
The other was Christa McAuliffe, the teacher who traveled into space on the Challenger, the space shuttle that exploded before the eyes of the world.
I did not attempt to contact the relatives of either of these people, with no disrespect to any of them. The deaths of Michael and Christa occurred many years ago, and I realize that their names are still well-known. If this upsets any of their loved ones, I humbly ask their forgiveness for not discussing this or asking their permission to include these stories. But my experience was that Christa and Michael came through to tell the stories of their lives newly in spirit, without major reference or look back to their earthly lives.
Like Christina’s narrative, their stories are fresh, unique, and meaningful—whether as beloved patriots or entertainers felt called to narrate their stories about how their lives continued. With no intention for publicity, I reveal their identities in this “Disclaimer.”
_______________
This project has been a labor of love. Started by my friend and me, our work together continued for a time. (This was over and above our day jobs.) We were both awed and grateful for the material presented. My friend was intuitive and held degrees in __________, but was not a channel. My friend put time and effort into researching, and I on channeling their life-after-death stories. She began researching the lives of some of the people, but neither of us knew all the contributors. As the channeler, I felt increasingly uneasy that most of the individuals did not need the world to know about their life on earth as much as they wanted people to understand their life in the spirit world. Ultimately, I felt they wanted to ensure their stories focused on their time in the afterlife. We discussed that, and I concluded that this project wasn’t “our” book at all! It is very much THEIR book.
We followed their lead. She stopped researching. And for quite some time, I slowed down on receiving their words. But without her loving push and encouragement, not to mention the richness of conversations we had upon reading their accounts, the project stopped. For years! Yet, every time I was energized enough to dust off one of their stories and reread it, they faithfully came and gave more of their story.
Much more of their accounts came in rewrites—theirs! Many added points and further stories about life in the spirit world. Once I dropped a great many of my own religious beliefs and viewpoints, they had the freedom to bring forth much more eye-opening and jaw-dropping points of Life On Their Side. Had we rushed to work on publishing, it would have been a very different book. As a medium, I grew. As I writer, I developed. As a spiritual being having my physical encounter on Earth, I experienced! Today, our world of spiritually-minded individuals, especially those seeking mindfulness and consciousness, is poised for a greater knowledge base of life after this life.
I apologize to them for putting this book on hold for as long as I did. I was afraid. I am a pretty shy, introverted person who shies away from confrontation, and I did not think I could handle the flack I imagined would come from some of this (then) new information.
Thank you for hearing me explain the courage it has taken me to embrace my fears surrounding others’ beliefs about what is presented, which were part of my life lessons! And that I needed to just get out of their way and let the stories shine.
May you find inner illumining through The StoryTellers, The WisdomTeachers, and My Friend, in Life and the Afterlife.
*Individualized faith capsule is a term my guide, Percivel, used in a message he gave my friend, Kem (through channeling) prior to Kem’s passing. It signifies that even though many people identify with a certain religion, no two people believe exactly the same. Each has their own individualized version and faith because their human experience is uniquely their own.
**Reference to the song, “Fame” which also includes the following lyrics: “I’m Gonna Live Forever. Remember my name.”
